Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Betta Edu, has announced that the government is preparing to introduce Humanitarian funds aimed at uplifting 133 million Nigerians from poverty.
She shared this information during an interview with Channels Television on Friday.
Previously, Edu had stated the government’s intention to elevate 133 million Nigerians from poverty. When questioned about the strategy to achieve this goal, she clarified that the introduction of humanitarian funds was in the works.
She emphasized the government’s commitment to transparency and honesty in its plans and objectives.

Edu explained that the action plan was being meticulously formulated, under the guidance of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s outlined agenda.
The strategy involves mobilization funds from the federal government, private sector, and international organizations.
The details of the plan are expected to be unveiled soon.
The ultimate aim is to transparently elevate 133 million Nigerians from poverty by the year 2030, as per the National Bureau of Statistics Poverty Index that currently reports 130 million Nigerians living in poverty.
