Opportunity knocks for Nigerian boxer Obinna in UBO world title bid

Mathew Obinna, boasting an impressive record of 22 wins with 22 knockouts, is preparing to battle Malawi’s Isaac Chilemba for the vacant Universal Boxing Organisation world light heavyweight title.

The 35-year-old Lagos-born fighter faces a significant challenge as the bout will take place on September 30 at the Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe, Malawi.

Obinna’s most recent fight was on September 24, 2022, when he secured a Technical Knockout victory over Joe John in the second round at the Brai Ayanote Boxing Gym in Lagos’ National Stadium.
