Less than 12 individuals suspected of being involved in internet fraud, often called Yahoo boys, have been apprehended for allegedly burying a newborn baby alive in Rivers State.
The arrests took place at the Andoni waterfront in Eagle Island, Port Harcourt, on a Wednesday morning.
The chairman of the Port Harcourt Local Government Authority Area Security Watch, Victor Ohaji, shared this upsetting news with the media, revealing that the police and the security group worked together to make these arrests.

Ohaji explained that a tip-off had alerted them to the suspects’ wrongdoing. They noticed a freshly dug and covered area at the waterfront. Upon digging, they discovered a newborn baby boy.
They immediately contacted the police and the local authorities to investigate the matter further.
