Atiku’s aide, Bwala, rebrands N5 billion palliative scheme as ‘Renewed Nonsense’

Daniel Bwala, an aide to Atiku Abubakar, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has strongly criticized the N5 billion palliative offered by President Bola Tinubu’s administration, calling it “renewed nonsense.”

Bwala highlighted that organized labor had exposed the inadequacy of the N5 billion fund distributed to state governments.

According to the calculations made by the organized labor, each individual would only receive around N1,500 from the palliative.

Bwala voiced his concerns on Twitter, emphasizing the disparity between the meager palliative amount and the actual cost of food items in the market.

The N5 billion was initially introduced as a palliative to counteract the effects of subsidy removal but has since faced backlash for being perceived as insufficient.
