Shettima chairs National Economic Council (NEC) session

Vice President Kashim Shettima is currently leading the National Economic Council session held at the Council Chambers of the State House in Abuja.

This assembly comprises the governors of all 36 states of Nigeria, along with ministers overseeing the Federal Capital Territory and Finance, the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited, and other members.

The agenda for the meeting encompasses a range of issues, including the country’s financial status and broader concerns.

However, a pivotal topic at hand is the implementation of measures to alleviate the adverse impacts of fuel subsidy removal.

Among the governors participating in the session are Abdulrahman Abdulrazak (Kwara), Hope Uzodinma (Imo), Inuwa Yahya (Gombe), Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), Dr. Alex Otti (Abia), Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), and Ademola Adeleke (Osun), among others.

The session also involves deputy governors from various states, indicating a widespread participation in the discussions about crucial economic matters and policy decisions.
