Nigeria’s late ambassador to France, Kayode Laro, was laid to rest at his family compound in Ilorin, Kwara State’s capital, following his arrival at the General Tunde Idiagbon International Airport.
The casket, draped in the national green and white colors to honor his service, was transported by a Nigerian Air Force plane.
The burial took place in accordance with Islamic customs. Laro, recognized for his significant contributions to human capital development in Nigeria and Kwara State, passed away on Friday night.

The funeral prayer was led by Ilorin’s Chief Imam, Sheikh Mohammed Bashiru Salihu.
Notable attendees included Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Nigeria’s Ambassador to France (Economic and Consular Affairs) Muazam Nayaya, Deputy Head of Mission Tunde Mustapha, and the AbdulRazaq family of Ilorin.
Governor AbdulRazaq expressed his shock at Ambassador Laro’s passing and offered prayers for his soul.
