The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and Tucks Transit Parks (TTP) have introduced a compulsory N50.00 stamp duty payment for every N1,000 receipt given to truck drivers.
Policy covers all government ministries
In a notice to stakeholders, TTP’s management stated that NPA directed them to implement this directive, requiring receipts of N1,000.00 and above to bear a N50.00 stamp, as per a policy issued by the Federal Ministry of Finance about two years ago.
This policy was circulated to all government ministries, departments, and agencies.
TTP further explained that after discussions between NPA and the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) on implementing the circular, NPA instructed them to carry out the directive.

Consequently, effective from September 1, 2023, all bookings on the eto platform within the port environment will incur an additional mandatory fee of N50.00 due to this directive.
In accordance with NPA’s instruction, TTP will commence the implementation of denoting receipts of N1,000.00 and above with the N50.00 stamp, aligning with the provisions of the Finance Act and the earlier circular issued by the Federal Ministry of Finance.
