Kwara state police roll out new security plans to ensure safety

The Kwara State Police Command has announced the implementation of fresh security measures aimed at enhancing safety and security throughout the state.

In a meeting led by Commissioner of Police Ebunoluwarotimi Adelesi, service commanders from various security agencies within the state discussed the prevailing security situation and evaluated existing strategies.

The police spokesperson, SP Okasanmi Ajayi, emphasized the thoroughness of the meeting’s deliberations.

The newly launched security plans encompass a range of initiatives, with a significant focus on “Harmony Security Week.”

This operation involves intensified stop-and-search procedures, as well as round-the-clock motorized and foot patrols.

The public has been notified of the special security operation, and citizens have been advised to cooperate and remain composed when interacting with officers during the assignment.

The police have reassured that officers conducting these activities have undergone training to uphold citizens’ rights.

The police engaged in discussions with local vigilantes, community policing members, local hunters, and traditional worship leaders in the state, cautioning against the celebration of certain religious events due to security concerns.

The police suggested relocating these events to a safer location.
