Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine was apprehended in Florida on Wednesday night, August 9, due to his failure to attend a court hearing.
He was taken to the Palm Beach County Jail, where his mug shot was taken, and he was subsequently released after posting $2,000 bail.
According to TMZ, the arrest is related to three traffic tickets Tekashi received in June when he was pulled over by police for driving well above the speed limit.
Allegedly, he was driving at 135 mph in a 65 mph zone on the Florida Turnpike, resulting in a speeding ticket.

He was also cited for operating an unregistered vehicle and lacking car insurance.
Tekashi’s absence from a July court hearing to address these tickets prompted a judge to issue a warrant, leading to his arrest on the aforementioned night.
The rapper has faced various legal issues in the past and is notably remembered for his cooperation with authorities in his 2018-2019 racketeering case, during which he testified against members of his former gang.
