Kebbi gov. grants N675 million furniture allowance to local council chairmen

The Governor of Kebbi State, Nasir Ahmed Idris, has given the green light for a furniture allowance of N675 million to be disbursed to the chairpersons of the state’s 21 local government areas.

This announcement was made by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Idris in a statement released on Thursday in Birnin Kebbi.

According to the statement, the approval covers the period from 2022 to 2024.

Mohammed Sani-Umar, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, conveyed the news and expressed gratitude to the governor for positively impacting people’s lives and initiating projects that directly benefit the public.

Aminu Ahmed, Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) and also the Chairperson of Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area, praised the governor on behalf of his counterparts.

He assured that the allocated funds would encompass furniture allowances for local government councils, councillors, and secretaries.

Ahmed commended the governor’s leadership and prayed for his continued success in guiding the state’s affairs.
