Tory Lanez receives 10 year prison term for shooting Megan Thee Stallion

Canadian hip-hop artist, Daystar Peterson, known as Tory Lanez, has been handed a ten-year prison term for the shooting of his American colleague, Megan Thee Stallion.

A Los Angeles judge delivered the sentence on Tuesday.

In December 2022, Lanez was found guilty of assault with a semi-automatic firearm and two other felonies, following a legal battle initiated by Megan Thee Stallion.

The incident took place in 2020 after a gathering at Kylie Jenner’s residence, where Lanez allegedly shot Megan in the feet.

Megan testified that Lanez shot her as she walked away from an SUV, instructing her to “Dance, bitch.”

While prosecutors sought a 13-year incarceration for the rapper, the jury ultimately imposed a 10-year jail term.
