Lagos state govt temporarily closes roads for three days

In an announcement shared on the official Instagram page of the Lagos State Government (LASG) on Tuesday, it was revealed that the entrance to CMD Road and the Access Road to Isheri-Olowora, both located on the Shagamu bound carriageway, will undergo a three-day temporary closure.

This move is to facilitate the application of the final wearing course on the roads, with the work set to commence on Wednesday, August 9, 2023.

The statement explained, “Aligned with the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway project led by the Federal Government, the Lagos State Government has outlined the temporary closure plan for the entrance into CMD Road and the Access Road to Isheri-Olowora on the Shagamu bound carriageway.”

During the closure, the CMD entrance will be shut for three days to complete the final wearing course application, starting from August 9.

Similarly, the Access Road to Isheri-Olowora near the Berger bus stop pedestrian bridge will be closed for three days, commencing on August 10, with preparatory work starting on August 9.

This closure is essential to reconstruct the remaining portion of the outer lane of the carriageway.

A traffic management plan has been devised for the duration of the construction. Effective from August 10, 2023, motorists traveling from the expressway en route to CMD Road will be redirected through alternative routes.

Motorists coming from the Ojota Interchange will access CMD Road via the access road after the FMW weighbridge, while those on Dr. Nurudeen Olowopopo Road will connect to CMD Road through Otedola Estate.

For Isheri-Olowora-bound motorists intending to exit via the access before the Berger bus stop pedestrian bridge, an alternative route will guide them via the next exit near New Garage to reach Isheri-Olowora.
