Lady dies as businessman allegedly hits her head against wall

Rafiat Okewole, a 30-year-old woman, has tragically lost her life in an incident reportedly involving her husband, Wole. The incident has left her family and relatives in mourning.

Despite being married to the businessman, Okewole was residing separately on Odelusi Street in the Ijoko area of Ota, Ogun State.

Okewole’s demise occurred during a disagreement with her husband when she visited him in the Gas Line area of Ijoko on a Sunday to request money for their children’s upkeep.

The couple had been embroiled in a dispute over her husband’s alleged neglect of their children.

The situation took a grave turn when Wole allegedly slammed Okewole’s head against a wall during her visit. Neighbors attempted to intervene and save her life, but their efforts proved unsuccessful.

She was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital where she had been rushed for medical attention.

Following the incident, her 41-year-old husband was taken into custody after one of the deceased’s siblings reported the case at a local police station.

Okewole’s brother, Akinola Shittu, expressed his devastation over the loss of his sister, recounting the tragic events. He described rushing to the scene after being informed of the incident and finding his sister’s lifeless body.

Okewole’s sister, Basirat Liasu, revealed that the incident took place in front of Okewole’s daughter, who had accompanied her to Wole’s house.

Liasu emphasized that Okewole was not living with Wole at the time of her death, as she was his second wife.

The daughter reportedly informed neighbors that her father had inflicted the fatal blow on her mother.

The deceased’s elder brother, Yusuf, reported the matter to the Sango Divisional Police Headquarters.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident and shared that Wole was in police custody.

An investigation has been launched, and the body has been sent for autopsy.
