Nigeria’s Super Falcons were eliminated from the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 quarter-finals as they lost to England in a penalty shootout.

The match ended goalless after 90 minutes and extra time. Despite England being reduced to 10 players, Nigeria couldn’t find the net.

The eventual 4-2 victory in penalties secured England’s spot in the quarter-finals against either Colombia or Jamaica.
