Mrs. Bamidele Ademola-Olateju, the Ondo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, has assured the public that the ongoing electricity challenges in the state will soon be resolved.
She mentioned that since the responsibility for electricity matters has been transferred to the concurrent list, the government has been diligently working towards providing communities with up to 22 hours of power supply.
Ademola-Olateju conveyed this during an interaction with journalists at the Nigeria Union of Journalists Secretariat in Akure, the state capital.
She also revealed plans for the establishment of a state electricity commission to regulate the power sector.
Ademola-Olateju further shared details about the upcoming private company’s efforts to generate a certain amount of electricity for Ondo State.
She expressed confidence that by the end of Governor Akeredolu’s term in February 2025, Akure and its surroundings will experience a significant improvement in power supply.
The commissioner also extended her support for the nomination of Mr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, a minister-designate from Ondo State, noting his favorable track record in public service.
