Niger Republic airspace closure will raise flight costs from Nigeria to Europe – Atedo Peterside

Entrepreneur and investment banker, Atedo Peterside, has expressed concern over the recent closure of Niger Republic’s airspace, suggesting that this move could lead to elevated flight expenses for travel between Nigeria and Europe.

The decision to shut down the airspace was made by the military junta in Niger Republic following the expiration of the ECOWAS deadline for the junta to relinquish power to democratically elected President Mohamed Bazoum.

In response to potential intervention, the junta announced the immediate closure of Niger’s airspace, warning of energetic countermeasures against any violation.

Peterside believes that this development may contribute to increased flight costs on the Nigeria-Europe route.
