NDLEA seizes illicit drugs concealed in MP3 player destined for Europe from Lagos

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) stationed at courier firms in Lagos have seized illicit drugs ingeniously hidden within various objects, including an MP3 player.

Femi Babafemi, the NDLEA spokesperson, revealed that the substances, comprising heroin, methamphetamine, dimethyl sulfone, and cannabis, were concealed in items destined for Europe.

One instance involved the recovery of 272 grams of dextromethorphan mixed with heroin, bound for Greece, hidden within white neck beads.

Furthermore, 665 grams of cannabis, intended for Hong Kong, was found in Dudu Osun black bathing soap bars.

Additional interceptions included 261 grams of dimethyl sulfone concealed in weaving thread reels and 1.5 kilograms of methamphetamine meant for New Zealand.

The drugs were cleverly packed inside an MP3 player after dismantling its components.

The NDLEA confiscated tramadol, rohypnol, exol-5 pills, and codeine-based syrup from various suspects in different locations, highlighting the agency’s continuous efforts against drug trafficking.
