Mob beats Lagos policeman to stupor after alleged push resulting in BRT crash

A yet-to-be-identified police officer was assaulted by a mob in a state of severe distress after a man named Yusuf was allegedly pushed onto a BRT bus lane by policemen in the Ketu area of Lagos State.

According to eyewitnesses, the police officers were attempting to seize Yusuf’s vehicle when he was forcefully propelled onto the BRT lane.

This led to a collision with an oncoming BRT bus, causing Yusuf to collapse due to the impact.

The eyewitnesses stated that the policemen were responsible for the unfortunate incident, accusing them of forcibly pushing Yusuf into harm’s way.

As the situation escalated, an enraged crowd apprehended one of the policemen who attempted to flee the scene after realizing the consequences of their actions.

The mob expressed outrage over the incident, resulting in the physical assault of the fleeing officer.

While Yusuf lay motionless on the BRT lane, bystanders rushed to his aid, providing water and assistance.

The injured police officer was also attended to and eventually taken to the hospital.

The incident has sparked public outcry, with many attributing the accident to the actions of the police officers involved.

Despite attempts to contact the state Police Public Relations Officer for a statement, no response had been received at the time of reporting.
