The Abdul Samad Rabiu Africa Initiative (ASR Africa) has contributed 25 operational vehicles to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to enhance its activities nationwide.
The donation to the agency is part of the ASR Africa security sector support grant, an initiative aimed at providing essential aid to bolster the agency’s operational capabilities and reach.
ASR Africa had previously announced this support grant for the armed forces and various security agencies to aid security operations across the country.
Beneficiaries of the grant include NDLEA, Nigerian Navy, Air Force, Army, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigerian Customs Service, Nigerian Immigration Service, Department of State Services (DSS), and Nigerian Correctional Service.
In a ceremony held on Monday, the documents and keys of the vehicles were handed over by Ubon Udoh, the Managing Director of ASR Africa, to Buba Marwa, the Chairman of NDLEA.
Udoh highlighted that Abdul Samad Rabiu, the founder of BUA Group and ASR Africa, is deeply committed to giving back to society, and this initiative has been created to uplift and restore the dignity and lives of Africans.
He expressed gratitude to the NDLEA for their collaboration and speedy execution of the project.
The operational vehicles are expected to significantly aid the agency in fulfilling its mandate in the fight against drug-related crimes in Nigeria.
Udoh stated, “We are very pleased to be here… On behalf of Abdul Samad Rabiu, we are presenting you 25 operational vehicles to aid the work you do, and I can assure you on his behalf that this is just the beginning of better things to come.”
In response, Marwa expressed appreciation to the foundation for their support and pledged to utilize the vehicles to their fullest extent.
