The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has recruited over 50 youths in Gombe State for the Rural Employment Promotion Department’s Post-Sustainable Agricultural Development Training Scheme.
The goal of this initiative is to enhance food security in the region.
During a three-day workshop on the SADTS, the Director-General of NDE, Abubakar Fikpo, emphasized the significance of agriculture as a traditional occupation in Nigeria, which plays a pivotal role in national development.
He stated that agriculture can effectively reduce unemployment rates and the agency’s efforts have evolved over time due to government policies and intervention programs.
The SADTS aims to streamline agricultural processes, generate agricultural sector jobs, and provide necessary information for securing start-up capital from the Federal Government’s intervention initiatives and policies.
