The Ondo State Police Command has initiated the trial of a man known as Bode, following the killing of Tunde Akinmoyewa with a dane gun at Laoso Village in Ondo West Local Government Area.
The incident occurred while the 27-year-old ex-convict was testing a new locally-made gun last Tuesday.
However, a source contradicted the police’s account, stating that the deceased was shot dead while testing a bulletproof charm in the village.
As per the source, Tunde asked his friend (Bode) to shoot him to test the charm’s efficacy, but tragically, he fell and died on the spot after being shot.
The suspect fled the scene before neighbors arrived, and he remains at large.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, confirmed the investigation into the matter and the ongoing efforts to apprehend the suspect.
The deceased’s body has been deposited in the morgue for further investigation.
