Tinubu sends envoys to Niger, Libya, and Algeria amid political tensions

On Thursday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in his capacity as Chairman of ECOWAS, sent a delegation to the Republic of Niger with the mandate to address the political impasse following the recent coup in the country.

The delegation, led by former Nigerian Head of State General Abdulsalami Abubakar (retd), aims to engage in robust dialogue to find a resolution.

The move comes after the extraordinary summit of ECOWAS in Abuja last week.

Additionally, another delegation led by Ambassador Babagana Kingibe was dispatched to engage with the leaders of Libya and Algeria on the Niger crisis.

President Tinubu emphasized the importance of African peace and development and urged the delegations to work towards an amicable resolution for the region’s stability.
