President Bola Tinubu is set to submit a new batch of ministerial nominees to the Senate for screening today, according to a reliable source.

The names of the 28 nominees will be read at the plenary, and their screening is expected to be concluded today, allowing the next batch to be screened afterward.

The aim is to complete the screening before the Senate goes on recess to avoid any delays. On Monday, 14 out of the 28 nominees were screened, and on Tuesday, nine more were screened.

During the screening, Senator Sunday Karimi raised a petition against one of the nominees, Nasir el-Rufai, regarding security issues in Southern Kaduna.

The screening of the remaining nominees is scheduled for Wednesday.
