Nwakaego Okoye, a TikTok user, has been sentenced to three years in prison by Justice Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court in Lagos for cyberstalking Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus.
The judgment was delivered on Wednesday, following Nwakaego’s guilty plea to two counts of cyberstalking.
However, the judge granted her the option to pay a fine of N150,000 instead of serving jail time, considering her remorse.
The cyberstalking, which took place between December 2022 and July 2023 in Lagos, involved Nwakaego and an accomplice, Chimabia, who is currently at large.
Nwakaego confessed to defaming the actress in exchange for N200,000 promised by a friend to help with her house rent.
