Despite an early two-goal lead from Cody Gakpo and Virgil van Dijk for the Reds, Bayern responded with goals from Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sane before halftime, leveling the score.

In the second half, the match continued to be action-packed, with Luis Diaz putting Liverpool back in the lead, only for Josip Stanisic to equalize.
