The Africa Leadership Group (ALG) has appealed to the Nigerian Federal Government to adopt a gradual approach in alleviating the immediate hardships faced by citizens following the recent removal of petroleum subsidy.

ALG emphasized the need to prioritize the well-being of Nigerians and proposed measures to address fundamental issues arising from the subsidy removal.

It called for swift implementation of mitigating measures to protect vulnerable households from the adverse effects of fuel price increases.

ALG also advocated for strategic investments in health, education, infrastructure, job creation, and support for SMEs and smallholder farmers.

The organization emphasized that a phased approach, combined with targeted investments, is crucial to ensure Nigeria’s prosperous and sustainable future amidst soaring fuel prices.
