Three students have been found guilty by the Kwara State High Court in Ilorin for conspiring to gang rape a cousin of one of them.
Omotosho Yahaya, Mustapha Ahmed, and Mustapha Ridwan were convicted on charges of criminal conspiracy and rape of the victim in the Adangba area of Ilorin East Local Government Area.
Yahaya invited his two friends to join him in the act while the victim was in the room.
The court sentenced each of them to five years imprisonment for rape and two years for criminal conspiracy, to run concurrently, along with a fine of N50,000 each.
The judge, Justice Adenike Akinpelu, dismissed their claims that the victim owed them money as a “fairy tale” and emphasized that no woman in her right senses would consent to such an act.
