The Ondo State Command of the South-West Security Network, known as Amotekun Corps, apprehended 29 individuals for criminal activities, including 20 suspected kidnappers, in the state.
The arrests were made in various forests in the region, where the criminals had sought refuge.
The Amotekun Corps Commander, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, disclosed that the resurgence of kidnapping prompted the deep investigation and subsequent arrests.
The security personnel had to traverse rivers and face attacks while conducting the operation.
Some of the suspects were found to be providing support to kidnappers by providing food and charging phones for the criminals.
Among the victims, Regina Odey, shared her harrowing experience of being kidnapped for seven days and released after a ransom of N350,000 was paid.
