A 63-year-old woman in Lagos is battling high blood pressure after falling victim to fraudsters who swindled her of N6.2 million.

The incident occurred when her daughter transferred money to her on June 7, 2023, for an urgent matter.

Unable to complete the transaction at the bank due to a missing document, the woman was approached by a stranger offering to help.

The fraudsters convinced her to withdraw N3 million, claiming it was related to a consignment involving Pounds.

Unfortunately, the victim kept sending more money, totaling N6.2 million, to the scammers who continued to contact her.

Despite reporting the case to the police, tracing the culprits has proven challenging, prompting concerns and frustrations for the family.
