Bayern Munich has revealed that Sadio Mane, the Senegalese striker and former Liverpool star, is currently in discussions regarding a potential club transfer.
Rumors are suggesting that his destination may be the Saudi Arabian team Al Nassr, which has been making high-profile signings recently.
The German champions omitted Mane from a friendly match in Tokyo, citing ongoing contract negotiations as the reason.
At 31 years old, Mane is expected to be the latest addition to the well-funded Saudi league, following in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo, who was previously signed by another Saudi club.
After six successful seasons with Liverpool, during which he won both the Champions League and Premier League, Mane expressed a desire for a new challenge, leading to his move to Bayern Munich.
However, Mane’s time at Bayern did not pan out as expected.
He suffered an injury during the season, forcing him to miss the World Cup, and was involved in a physical altercation with a teammate after a Champions League defeat.
His performance on the field also fell short of expectations, resulting in a relatively underwhelming tally of 12 goals in 38 games across all competitions.
