Osun APC factional chairman declines appointment offered by Adeleke

Mr. Rasaq Salinsile, the factional chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, has turned down the appointment offered to him by Governor Ademola Adeleke, citing personal reasons.

As the leader of the faction loyal to former Governor Rauf Aregbesola, Salinsile strongly opposed ex-Governor Adegboyega Oyetola’s bid for re-election during the governorship poll on July 16, 2022, which took place amidst intense inter-party conflicts within the ruling party in the state.

While Salinsile didn’t openly reject the appointment when his name was first announced, he later reached out to the governor to decline the offer.

Subsequently, during the swearing-in ceremony for the chairmen of boards, Salinsile was conspicuously absent, and a new list revealed that Tope Mustapha Adeyemi had replaced him as the Chairman of the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM).

When questioned about his decision, Salinsile simply stated that he turned down the appointment due to personal reasons.
