University students arrested for killing Abuja driver

The management of Bingham University in Nasarawa State disclosed that three students recently arrested in connection with a murder case had already been suspended from the institution.

The University’s Director of Public Affairs, Daburi Misal, clarified that the alleged killing occurred after the suspects were suspended for drug abuse as part of the university’s zero-tolerance policy on drugs.

According to the university’s regulations, these students should have undergone rehabilitation before returning to the campus.

However, they were later apprehended by the police in connection with the murder case.

The suspects, identified as Obasieyene Inem, Aaron Anthony, and Alasan Olusegun, were accused of killing a Bolt driver after attempting to deceive him with a fake debit alert.

The FCT Commissioner of Police, Haruna Garba, stated that the suspects confessed to the crime during the investigation.

The university has expressed its sympathy to the family of the deceased and pledged full cooperation with the police in the ongoing investigation.
