During the ongoing sitting of the governorship election petition tribunal in Kaduna, approximately 316 Bimodal Voters’ Accreditation System (BVAS) machines were presented and accepted as exhibits.

These machines were brought to the court based on a subpoena served on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by the 1st and 2nd petitioners, Isa Ashiru and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Yusuf Zubairu, a staff of INEC, testified before the tribunal, demonstrating how the machines were used to collate election results during the gubernatorial poll.

He asserted that the BVAS machines could not be tampered with, as each machine has its unique identity number.

The court adjourned the case for further hearing on Wednesday, 26th July, 2023.
