Drug dealer Carlos Macci, part of the gang that supplied The Wire actor Michael K. Williams with a deadly mix of heroin and fentanyl, has received a 30-month prison sentence.
Federal Judge Ronnie Abrams delivered the sentence after Macci pleaded guilty to narcotics conspiracy in April.
Williams tragically died at the age of 54 after taking the fentanyl-laced heroin sold by the gang on September 5, 2021.
Other accomplices, Irvin Caragena, Luiz Cruz, and Hector Robles, also pleaded guilty in connection to the fatal drug deal.
The co-creator of The Wire, David Simon, had appealed for leniency in Macci’s case.
The judge acknowledged the complexity of the sentencing, considering Macci’s struggles with addiction and the devastating consequences of the drug trade.
Following his prison term, Macci will face three years of supervised release, with one year in in-patient rehab.
