President Bola Tinubu emphasized the inclusion of Nigerians living abroad in the policy-making process, aiming to deepen democracy and garner support from the diaspora.
Represented by his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, at the 2023 National Diaspora Day in Abuja, Tinubu recognized the significance of diaspora support and contributions to national development.
He pledged to involve Nigerians in the diaspora community in designing, implementing, and reviewing public policies, plans, and programs.
Tinubu assured that the newly elected government is diaspora-friendly, fostering effective policies to galvanize support and strengthen democracy.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Adamu Lamuwa, also emphasized the need to sustain diaspora engagement for the rapid development of the nation.
The Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, expressed their focus on mobilizing diaspora talent, skills, and resources for national development within the “Renewed Hope Agenda” of the government.
