Three FUTA students hospitalized as gunmen open fire at barber’s shop

In a disturbing incident near the campus of Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa, three students were shot by suspected cultists.

The attack occurred at a barber’s shop in Amuta Junction, where the victims had gone to charge their mobile phones.

A male student and two females were seriously injured and rushed to the Osun State University Teaching Hospital, Osogbo, for medical treatment.

The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, but sources suggest it might be connected to a fraternity war with rival groups in the area.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has been informed about the incident, but details about the perpetrators are yet to be known.

In a separate development, four suspected cultists were arrested by the Anti-Cultism Unit of the State Police Command and members of Nigeria Hunters and Forest Security Service in Osogbo.

The joint operation took place in the Olugunna area of Osogbo, preventing a potential attack between rival cult groups.
