Cultists brutally murder police inspector in Lagos

A Police Inspector stationed at Zone Two Command headquarters in Onikan, Lagos, lost his life on Sunday, July 23, in a brutal assault by suspected Black Axe confraternity members in the Ijanikin area of the state.

Eyewitnesses reported that around 9 pm, a group of about seven hoodlums, believed to be cultists, confronted the Inspector at Alasia Bus Stop.

Two days prior, the assailants had a dispute with a close friend of the Inspector, known for his strong anti-cultism stance in the locality.

In a horrifying attack, approximately twenty attackers ambushed the officer, repeatedly striking him on the head with an axe until he succumbed to his injuries.

The state police command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident and disclosed that one suspect, Sunday Igboro, alias Ashile, has been arrested, while efforts to apprehend the remaining fugitives are underway.
