Former Nigeria Vice President and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has presented his final written address to the Presidential Election Petitions Court, stating that the court should not hesitate to nullify Bola Tinubu’s presidency if it deems the declaration unlawful.
Atiku emphasized that despite past precedents of never nullifying a presidential election in Nigeria, the tribunal should prioritize doing the right thing.
He countered Tinubu’s argument that nullifying the election based on the interpretation of votes cast in the Federal Capital Territory could lead to chaos, asserting that reaching such a verdict would not cause upheaval.
Atiku’s submission calls for a proactive approach to applying new laws and technologies to maintain transparency and uphold constitutional democracy.
