Nigerian singer Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has achieved a remarkable milestone as his hit track ‘Calm Down’ becomes the most streamed African song in the history of the United States of America (USA).
The song surpassed CKay’s ‘Love Nwantiti’ to claim the top spot. Chart Data, an American music data compilation website, confirmed this achievement in a tweet.
Both versions of the song have garnered over half a billion streams on Spotify and YouTube. Notably, ‘Calm Down’ reached the highest position ever attained by a Nigerian song on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart after a remix featuring American superstar Selena Gomez, peaking at number 3.
It marked the first African song to lead the American radio chart.
