The Commissioner of Police in Edo State, Mohammed Dankwara, has announced the arrest of 53 male individuals linked to cult-related activities in the state.
The CP issued a warning to citizens and organizations, urging them to refrain from supporting cult groups by providing logistics for their nefarious activities.
In a press statement released on Thursday, the CP expressed concern over the escalating cult clashes in the state and vowed to take decisive action to eradicate these criminal elements.
The police command has already initiated discreet measures to combat the rise of cult activities and restore peace in the region.
The arrested suspects have been thoroughly investigated, profiled, and subsequently processed for court proceedings.
The CP also revealed that he held a meeting with concerned citizens to devise credible solutions to address the cult-related challenges in the state.
He cautioned all secret cult members to halt their violent activities or leave the state, while also warning individuals and entities supporting cult groups to desist from such practices or face legal consequences.
