Wizkid reveals why he doesn’t get involved in Nigerian politics

In a recent interview with Evening Standard UK, Grammy award-winning singer Wizkid explained his reluctance to discuss politics in his music and interviews.

He stated that the Nigerian masses are primarily concerned with meeting their basic needs and do not prioritize political matters.

Wizkid emphasized, “I don’t like to speak about politicians in Nigeria. People in the streets care about themselves and what they are going to eat. They don’t give a f*ck about nothing else.”

The artist also shared his aspirations as a leader among the new generation of Nigerian musicians.

He expressed a desire to guide the new generation forward and foster unity among them, emphasizing his goal of global success for afrobeats artists.

Wizkid refrained from passing judgment on previous generations, focusing instead on steering the new wave of talent towards international recognition.
