Tax expert Taiwo Oyedele has stepped down from his position as Fiscal Policy Partner and Africa Tax Leader at PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in order to dedicate his full attention to his role as the Chair of the Presidential Fiscal Policy & Tax Reform Committee.
Oyedele confirmed his resignation in an official statement, expressing his commitment to the national assignment and the need to avoid any potential conflicts of interest.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu established the committee to drive fiscal policy and tax reforms, aiming to eliminate barriers hindering business growth in Nigeria.
The committee comprises experts from both the public and private sectors and will focus on tax law reform, fiscal policy coordination, revenue administration, and tax harmonization.
The objective is to enhance revenue collection efficiency, ensure transparency, and foster a culture of voluntary tax compliance, ultimately improving Nigeria’s revenue profile and creating a more competitive business environment.
