In the early hours of Wednesday, a potentially fatal accident occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, narrowly sparing the lives of eight individuals involved.
The incident took place on the Sagamu-Interchange stretch and involved a trailer carrying vehicles, two Toyota Hiace buses, and a Toyota Jeep.
Eyewitnesses revealed that the accident was caused by the truck driver’s lack of concentration.
Unaware of the traffic ahead, the driver failed to control the speed of the vehicle, resulting in multiple collisions.
The Federal Road Safety Corps confirmed the accident, stating that two individuals sustained injuries and were promptly taken to the hospital for treatment.
The collision caused a significant traffic jam, with motorists stranded for approximately six hours along different sections of the highway.
