On Monday afternoon, the traditional ruler of Nguru community in Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State, Eze James Nnamdi, was tragically killed.
Gunmen invaded his palace and opened fire, resulting in his death. The ruler was reportedly hosting a guest, Chief Ignatius Nwaru, when the attackers struck.
The incident has caused panic in the area.
An anonymous source revealed, “The traditional ruler of Nguru in Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area was shot dead around 3pm.
The traditional ruler, known as Eze Mmirioma, was killed in his palace. This is extremely terrifying.”
The guest who was present during the attack was rushed to an undisclosed hospital for medical attention.
The police spokesperson in the state, Henry Okoye, confirmed the killing and stated that the state Commissioner of Police, Muhammed Berde, has ordered an investigation into the murder.
