The Federal Capital Territory High Court has issued a one-week ultimatum to the Department of State Security Service (DSS) to either charge or release the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele.
The ruling came as a result of a fundamental human rights suit filed by Emefiele against the DSS and others.
While acknowledging the DSS’s authority to make arrests and prevent internal crime, Justice Hamza Muazu emphasized that these actions must be conducted within the boundaries of the law.
Further details regarding the case are yet to be disclosed.
