The family of Abdulmalik Abubakar and Ibrahim Abdullahi, who were allegedly shot by members of a vigilance group in the Bobota/Dabi Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has called on the police to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.
Speaking with reporters, the victims’ sister, Jemilah, expressed the family’s desire for justice and expressed disappointment in the police’s response since the shooting occurred.
The incident took place when the brothers were asleep in their room, and members of the vigilance group reportedly invaded the premises and opened fire.
One brother has been discharged from the hospital, while the other requires surgery.
A civil society organization, the Take It Back Movement, also urged the police to promptly investigate the matter and hold the perpetrators accountable.
The FCT Police Public Relations Officer has promised to seek information from the Divisional Police Officer handling the case.
