The passing of Cynthia Okereke, a well-known veteran actress in Nollywood, has been announced by her colleague, Joseph Okechukwu, through a heartfelt post on his verified Twitter account.
Expressing his deep sorrow, Okechukwu revealed that he had intended to cover the cost of Okereke’s flight ticket to complete a project they had started, only to learn that she had passed away the previous night.
Okechukwu expressed his shock and emphasized the ephemeral nature of life.
He fondly remembered Okereke as a remarkable, kind-hearted individual with whom he had shared over two decades of friendship.
The sudden and unexpected nature of her departure left him at a loss for words. Okechukwu concluded his message by bidding farewell to Cynthia and hoping for her soul to find eternal rest until they reunite in the afterlife.
It is worth noting that Okereke and fellow actor Clemson Cornel were previously kidnapped in Enugu but were later released unharmed by their captors after days of being reported missing.
