Ekporere sets ambitious goal to break world record, following in Amusan’s footsteps

Prosper Oghenemine Ekporere, a Nigerian hurdler based in the United States, impressed both himself and spectators at the recent national trials in Benin City by achieving a personal best time of 13.66 seconds to win the men’s 110m hurdles event.

Ekporere had suffered an injury at the beginning of the year, which hindered his training, but his season finally commenced in June.

Inspired by Tobi Amusan’s World Record achievement at the previous year’s World Championships, Ekporere displayed remarkable performance and ease in clearing the hurdles, securing his first national title.

His time in Benin City was not only the fastest of his career but also the fastest ever recorded by a student from Liberty University in the 110m hurdles.

Ekporere expressed gratitude for his recovery and faith in God, aiming to make further progress in the upcoming seasons and ultimately break the national record.
