The Ogun State Government, through the State House of Assembly, has given its approval for the celebration of “Isese Day” on August 20.
The resolution was passed during a plenary session following a motion moved by the House Majority Leader, Yusuf Sheriff, and seconded by Lukmon Adeleye.
The government will designate the day as a work-free day to allow for widespread participation in the cultural festivities.
The motion, sponsored by Adegoke Adeyanju, aims to promote the customs and culture of the state’s people.
Lawmakers expressed their support, emphasizing that the celebration of Isese Day would preserve and enhance the traditional legacy of the Yoruba land.
Speaker Olakunle Oluomo highlighted the importance of passing on cultural traditions to the younger generation, ensuring they are not lost over time.
