The police have confirmed that four of its officers were killed by bandits along the Gusau-Bungudu road in Zamfara State.
The spokesperson of the Zamfara State police command, Yazid Abubakar, verified the incident in a statement.
Abubakar stated that the security personnel were ambushed by the terrorists while conducting a stop-and-search patrol on the road.
Among the victims, three were officers of the Command, while the other was a constable.
Despite this tragic event, Abubakar assured that it would not deter the command’s determination to achieve lasting peace in the state.
It was reported that the terrorists also killed one person in Tagero village, located in the Furfuri area of Bungudu Local Government in Zamfara.
